Katie Fettes, Rotary Global Grant Scholar
Positive Peace as a Framework for Building Human and Environmental Security

Katie Fettes is a Rotary Global Grant Scholar and graduate of the MA program in Conflict, Security and Development within the War Studies department at King's College London. She also holds a BA in Peace, Conflict & Justice Studies, African Studies & Urban Studies from the University of Toronto. Katie is co-founder and director of communications and operations with The Rainmaker Enterprise, a non-profit organization installing solar-powered water infrastructure for health, peace and food security in hard-to-reach places. Founded by a former South Sudanese refugee, Rainmaker's operations are currently in rural South Sudan. Katie is also part of the Toronto-based Climate Solutions Advancement Network, where she is helping to set up an initiative to increase private sector investment into climate solutions. Katie is seeking opportunities to better understand, contribute to, and share about the connections between climate change, security and prosperity - currently, as part of the Institute for Economics and Peace.
